About Us

Incorporated in Ireland in 1999, our aim is to deliver a comprehensive and flexible fund management service offering centred around our clients. We provide a gateway for establishing, launching and managing fund structures in partnership with our clients.

W&W Asset Management Dublin DAC is wholly owned by W&W Asset Management GmbH, a member of the Wüstenrot & Württembergische Group.

The Company provides fund management services to W&W Asset Management GmbH managing €40bn on behalf of W&W AG, a public listed entity, with a €75bn asset holding.

The Company’s sister firm in Ireland W&W Investment Managers DAC provides portfolio management and investment advisory services as regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under MiFID.

The W&W Gruppe companies can look back on a long history. Their roots go back to 1828 and thus combine more than 190 years of experience in serving their clients.

Management Company - UCITS/AIFM

WWAM is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland and supports funds structured as unit trusts, common contractual funds, Irish Collective Asset-management Vehicles (ICAVs) and Investment Limited Partnerships. WWAM has extensive experience in managing both UCITS and AIFMD by providing tailor made solutions for our clients. In engaging with WWAM an asset manager avoids the regulatory, financial and operational burden. WWAM assumes responsibility for all local regulatory and compliance requirements.

WWAM appoints Designated Persons to self-managed investment companies and management companies under the UCITS and AIFMD regime. The Designated Persons fulfil the executive substance requirement of these entities. The Designated Person is a pre-approved control function under the Fitness & Probity Regulations of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010.

Expertise and experience in the establishment of fund structures from design to registration of the fund. W&W has experience across a broad spectrum of fund types including UCITS, QIAIFs, Fund of Funds, Private Debt, Private Equity and Infrastructure Funds. Approval with the Central Bank of Ireland takes 24-hours for funds established on our existing ICAV platform.

Regulators globally continue to focus on money laundering and the possibility that funds may present opportunities for money launderers. W&W offers a specialist MLRO service to funds. This service operates independently of a regulated fund’s administrator/ transfer agent. The MLRO monitors the administrator’s AML procedures, carries out on-site inspections, reports to the Board of the fund and provides AML training.

WWAM has the depth and expertise to provide guidance and on-going support on an extensive range of compliance, regulatory and operational matters.

WWAM has access to a wide network of service partners and has the relevant industry knowledge to assist in the selection of service partners which best fit our clients requirements.

WWAM provides a risk management service to UCITS and AIFs enabling such funds to perform the risk management functions required to ensure compliance with the UCITS Regulations and AIFMD.

WWAM offers managers a highly experienced panel of non-executive directors who adhere to the highest standards of corporate governance and bring current industry knowledge and expertise to those boards on which they serve.

Portrait of Breandán Ó Braoin

Chief Executive Officer

Qualified Chartered Accountant, with PwC, 8 years experience specialising in financial services. Recruited in 2001 as Head of Finance with responsibility for the capital and financial management functions of WWAM. During this time Mr. Ó Braoin’s experience and knowledge developed to include all facets of WWAM.

Mr. Ó Braoin was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in 2017.

Designated Person for Investment Management.

Thomas is the Designated Person for Investment Management. Prior to joining W&W Asset Management, Thomas held positions in BNY Mellon and JPMorgan.

Thomas’ functions for the UCITS/AIFM management company include monitoring investment policy, investment strategy and performance, supervision of delegates and investment management.

Chief Risk Officer

Barry joined W&W Asset Management having previously worked for BNY Mellon since 2003. Barry’s functions for the UCITS/AIFM management company covers the risk elements of monitoring investment policy, investment strategy and performance; supervision of delegates; complaints handling and investment management.

Barry is the Designated Person with responsibility for Operational Risk Management and Fund Risk Management.

Regulatory Compliance

Tom has extensive experience of the funds industry having been the Head of Finance and a Director for the Mercer Funds. Tom is currently a Risk & Regulatory Partner in EisnerAmper Ireland, a firm who specialise in the provision of services to the financial services industry.

Tom is the Designated Person responsible for Regulatory Compliance.

Head of Capital & Financial Management

Stephen is the Designated Person for Capital & Financial Management. Prior to his current role, Stephen spent 10 years working in finance and change management roles at MetLife and more recently at Citibank. During his tenure, Stephen was instrumental in building out additional finance support capabilities at Citibank Ireland, due to Brexit requirements.

Stephen is FCCA qualified and holds an MBA from Smurfit Business School as well an MSc from Trinity College Dublin.

Senior Operations Manager

Edel is the Company’s Senior Operations Manager. In addition to overseeing day to day operations, Edel is also key contact for new fund launches and the on-boarding of new clients.

Edel has over 13 years’ experience in the Fund Services and Custody areas. She joined the Company in November 2019 from Deutsche Bank where she was Vice President of their Depository Client On-Boarding Team.
